The Jonk Theaterauteuren-Challenge (Young Playwrights Challenge) incited young students to express their creativity and explore their artistic talents.
A common title was close at hand: #BleifDoheem (#StayAtHome).
Numerous exciting and remarkable plays were submitted. Very distinct genres, writing styles and creative streaks always resulted in highly enjoyable reading moments.
Ranging from parodies to fantasy or intimate realism; the diverse submissions were all unique in their own way.
Parents’ engagement should also be underlined. Thus, the range of submitted plays spanned from Cycle 2.1 in primary education to 7e in secondary school.
Motivation, the joy of writing, and the volition to engage with a creative challenge yielded valuable artistic creations from every age group.
We had the difficult task to select a winning entry: #BleibzuHause by Artemis Maria Bäuerlein (7e C1 Athénée de Luxembourg).
Together with students and theatre professional, the winning play will be put on stage in the course of 2021.
Thanks to all the pupils, students, and parents who put in a lot of effort to meet this challenge.
