To encourage reading and especially reading aloud in these times of #bleiwdoheem, SCRIPT is launching a reading aloud contest Read from your favourite book.

This latest challenge allows children who like to both read and read aloud to introduce some beautiful stories and books to their friends, who also have to spend their days at home.

This challenge is aimed at every bookworm from cycle 3 and cycle 4, as well as students from the lower secondary classes (7e-5e).

Children who participated in the first rounds of the Virliesconcours and are now unable to participate in the regional final can have fun in trying to meet this challenge.

Do you have a favourite book or is there a story that you particularly like? Would you like to tell others about this favourite of yours?

Then look for and select an excerpt from your favourite book. It can be in German, French, Luxembourgish or English and should be somewhere between 2 min 45 to 3 min 30 in length.

Read the excerpt out loud and record yourself. You can easily use a mobile phone or an app, such as Bookcreator.

In the document at the bottom of the page you will find a few tips on how you can practice reading the chosen excerpt out loud in an entertaining way.

Send the audio file with your excerpt and information about the book (title, author, publisher, ISBN) to challenge@script.lu by 8 June 2020. If your audio file is too big to send by mail, use wetransfer.com. Don't forget to include your name, address, primary school cycle and your class.

You can win (per primary school cycle or lower secondary level) one book voucher which you can redeem at the bookshop of your choice in Luxembourg. The winners will be published on schouldoheem.lu and the book titles featuring the best excerpts will also be mentioned there.
