„Doheem“ challenge by Youth4planet

Have you ever wanted to make a movie and inspire other people? In this challenge you are a producer, director, cameraman/woman, editor and you can improve your everyday life all at once!

The mission

Use your mobile phone to shoot a short film on the topic Doheem (At home). Show your ‘new’ everyday life and/or your homeschooling situation!

What you need

  • A smartphone and some free editing software (iPhone: iMovie, Android: filmoraGo, both available for free on the App/Google-store)
  • A signed letter of agreement (in the PDF document at the bottom of this page) from all the people featuring in your movie, so that your video can later on be made available online

Use the following questions to structure your movie

  • What has changed at home since homeschooling has started?
  • How do you pass your time?
  • What annoys you? What is great?
  • What has this unsual situation taught you for the future?
  • And most importantly: What tips would you like to give other youngsters?

Divide your story into three parts and make notes on the following

  • Introduction (What is your movie about?)
  • Description of the problem(s) (… is going really badly/is annoying)
  • Problem solving suggestions (My recommendations are the following: …)

Start shooting your movie

  • Speak into the camera yourself
  • Ask somebody else to film you while studying/during your everyday routine
  • Describe or film specific situations
  • Interview your parents or other people you are in touch with (e.g. via Skype, Facetime, Teams, etc.); remember to ask everyone you film to sign a letter of agreement
  • Let your film expand in this way

Editing process

Once you have finished shooting, open your film in an editing software and perfect it. You will see: it is easy and a lot of fun!

You can find some tips on how to make and edit movies here:

Your film should be no longer than two minutes.

Send it in

Send your finished movie and all the signed letters of agreement using wesendit.com to challenge@script.lu. The deadline is the 18th May 2020.

For the five best movies there will be a guided tour through the Filmland-film studios in Kehlen/Luxembourg as well as a DVD from the Paul Thiltges Distributions Shop.
