LALA is a support programme that enables children of cycle 1 to train phonological awareness in a playful way and also to get to know letters. Studies, among others from the University of Luxembourg, have shown that these skills are important for learning to read.
The programme is carried out by teachers in class and consists of a number of systematic games and activities. As the schools are currently closed, various elements of the LALA programme are made available online to parents and teachers.
For families who speak Portuguese at home, the bilingual playlist (Luxembourgish / Portuguese) could be particularly interesting. Here, children can discover the "target sound letter" in a word and song in Luxembourgish as well as in a word and song in Portuguese.
